Artificial intelligence (AI) is not a new concept, but in recent years we have seen these technologies rapidly grow in popularity and become a greater part of society and business. AI in all varieties and forms is fast becoming embedded within business processes and applications, and this development is driven by new, high-growth generative technologies such as ChatGPT.
So how does AI impact Quality Engineering (QE)? It can be in two primary ways:
1. AI-Augmented testing – using AI to improve the delivery of testing services.
2. Testing of AI Systems – ensuring quality in the AI technologies that businesses implement.
We will explore the second point and how quality teams need to take a different approach when testing AI systems in order to ensure success. Also, we will look how AI technologies implemented in businesses need to meet quality objectives to then achieve business goals.
